Weekend photos

What did you do this weekend? Ours was short but sweet, involving food, friends, a little shopping & cozying up by a fire.

Speaking of food, my favorite meal to cook is breakfast, I love it anytime! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I thought it’d be fitting to make heart-shaped eggs for my Valentine! It wasn’t too bad for my first time. All I did was take a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut a heart shape into the bread, browned the bread on each side and then cracked an egg in the center and let it cook to my liking!

There was a bit of snow throughout different parts of Texas from the panhandle & even down in border town Del Rio. With the upcoming 100+ temperatures this summer, I’ll take all of the cold weather I can get. Here’s what my little brother’s backyard looked like on Sunday in Lubbock:

I spent sometime at Austin Flea at Highball on Saturday with Brandy and Kristen…we were having so much fun we didn’t even take a group photo; but I did capture a photo of the yummy watermelon salad I ate, SOOO GOOD. Simple ingredients:

Watermelon, cojita cheese (thinly sliced), lime pulp, scallions (thinly sliced) topped off with a drizzle of olive oil

I added cracked pepper

My favorite part of the weekend was our traditional Valentine’s lunch at Royer’s Cafe in Round Top, TX.Β  I’m speechless about the fried chicken (served only on Sundays) and the pies are A-MAZING (served anytime), I die for the strawberry rhubarb pie!!

We ended our weekend watching random movies and keeping warm by the fire…..can’t wait to see what next weekend will bring!

I hope you had a great weekend!
